Prime Day, but make it every day!
Prime Day, Amazon’s two-day sales event for Prime customers held July 12-13 this year, once again created headlines for the two million plus purchases and billions of dollars of revenue it generated.
If you are a retailer and you want to grow your eCommerce sales year round, there are many ways to raise online sales and one of the best is with shoppable content.
Shoppable content, particularly video, is a format gaining traction around the world. Canada is lagging a bit behind in this space but it is the perfect time for small and medium companies to get into shoppable content. This area is poised for rapid growth in Canada, and in particular livestreamed shopping formats are on the rise. Live commerce combines instant purchasing and viewer interaction through a chat function or reaction buttons. It’s already a $171-billion dollar market in China (2020) and will be worth $34-billion in the U.S. by 2024 according to reports.
And you don’t have to turn to the Amazons, Instagrams or Tik Toks to make this format work for you, though those are viable options for sure. There are so many good new platforms and tech releases entering the market that allow you to sell from your own company website, while leveraging the audience and scale of social platforms. If you want to learn more check out this excellent report from Fit Small Business.
And if you want to talk more about a shoppable strategy and how to tell your brand story through this eCommerce format, reach out. This is a key pillar in the Forty First Street Media offering and we would love to work with you.
